Ice Caddy
Ice caddies or ice cube trolleys are the largest representatives of the ice box category for transporting larger quantities of ice or alternatively chilled drinks. The capacity of ice caddies therefore starts at around 100l which is equivalent to an amount of approx. 60kg of ice cubes.
Typically, they are made of hygienic polyethylene plastic, less often made of stainless steel. For optimal cooling, they are double-walled or even lined with insulation. They also feature an integrated drain tap to drain melt water, a lid to protect the contents from heat and dirt and often stand on castors to ensure easy transport.
In the professional gastronomy / hotel industry, ice caddies are often used in catering or for the outdoor area, as they are very versatile and offer a temporary, mobile solution for cooling without electricity. However, caution is required with regard to hygiene regulations, as ice (e.g. for beverage bottles) may not be reused for processing food!
