The "Diamond" mixing glass from BAR AID is truly a glass-made jewel in your bar. And because gemstones can only be cut by hand, each of these mixing glasses is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece with a Japanese diamond pattern in light-reflecting perfection—high-quality workmanship without press seams and with well-thought-out technical details.
With a height of approx. 15 cm, a diameter of approx. 9 cm, and a generous volume of 600 ml, it is the ideal size for making individual cocktails.
The 650 grams, which are mainly due to the slightly thickened base, feel incredibly sexy in the hand. Placed confidently on the bar counter, they give the glass that certain stability that you can feel, see, and hear while stirring. Pre-chilled or not, the thick base insulates the temperature of the cocktail from external influences.
The inside is rounded. Why? So that the bar spoon can glide even more smoothly and quietly along the inner walls and the ice cubes can be swirled around even more dynamically.
Of course, the lip has been shaped so that it works without dripping. After all, flawless performance must be maintained until the very last act.
A few more tips on use and care
Anyone who has filled freshly washed and still hot mixing glasses with ice cubes and water may have experienced a surprise or two—the glass shatters due to thermal shock.
This mixing glass has a balanced ratio between the thickness of the glass wall and the thickness of the base and can therefore withstand temperature fluctuations of up to 40°C.
The glass is therefore dishwasher safe and can be used during operation. Nevertheless, we recommend washing by hand during bar operation and thorough cleaning in the dishwasher after closing time.
Note: The glass can be placed in the dishwasher for hygienic cleaning. Please allow it to cool sufficiently afterwards and do not use it immediately for mixing again to avoid thermal shock and possible shattering. Especially during operation, it is advisable to have several glasses in use so that cleaned glasses can cool down undisturbed.
