With the Clear Ice Box Spears by Ice Forward you can make clear transparent ice spears at home using only your freezer.
The secret of fully transparent ice cubes is directional freezing, where the ice is frozen through from top to bottom while the surrounding sides are being isolated. This causes the impurities in the water do be drained into a catch basin, keeping the ice speares themselves clear.
A simple recipe with a great effect. Crystal clear ice spears upgrade the looks of cocktails and soft drinks simply due to their shiny image. The spears have the measurements 13,5x3,5x3,5cm and are perfect for collins, long drink and high ball glasses.
The mold is made of BPA-free silicon.
Please note the dimensions of the box and the height of your freezer!
In order to achieve the best possible result, please note:
The freezer should be between -14°C and -12°C.
If the water quality is not high enough, you can use a filter. The ice cubes will then become clearer.
Use warm water to make it freeze more slowly. This also increases the clarity.
It usually takes 16-24 hours for the ice cubes to freeze.
