This Rocks glass from the series 'Cassiopea' by Bormioli Rocco unites functionality with a well thought-out design. Who would have guessed, that a octagon-shaped base could transform into a circular drinking rim in such a strikingly unique way? Doing so, this tumbler hides many different shapes in its contour. The inwards dent at half the glass's height is especially useful since it makes the glass fit into almost any hand intuitively.
As the name rocks glass already suggests, this tumbler is primarily made for 'whisky on the rocks'. Simply by looking at the glass from different angles, it appears to already have ice cubes inside. This illusion as well as the many different shapes found in this glass's design make it appeal to whisky and geometry enthusiasts.
The Rocks glass from the 'Cassiopea' series by Bormioli Rocco lives from the geometric transition of an octagonal base plate up to a round, 8,5cm wide mouth rim. The evenly octagonal glass base is about 0,5cm thick and opens slightly upwards. From here, different sized triangles und squares playfully line up to form a likewise angular mantle surface all the way up to the center of the tumbler. There they collectively form a narrowed, evenly pentagonal diameter, on which the glass can be held comfortably and safely. Towards the upper rim, the body of the glass opens up again, with the geometric shapes gradually losing their contours and ultimately forming a circular opening. The glass is designed for serving and enjoying whiskey on the rocks - or many other drinks on ice. The geometric shapes are reminiscent of ice cubes in their angularity, so that the 'on ice' effect is also presented visually and perhaps even tangibly enhanced ...

1Note: The specified 'total volume' (also referred to as gross capacity) of a glass indicates the maximum amount of liquid it can hold when filled to the brim. In contrast, the 'fill volume' (also referred to as usable volume or serving volume) describes the practically usable amount. Both values are given in ml or l. Due to production conditions, a tolerance of ±5% may occur, which corresponds to industry standards and does not constitute a defect.
