Celebrate the good old times!
A major influence to today's bar culture has been the prohibition era in the 1920s. During this era people met in the so called speakeasies to drink and celebrate. A speakeasy was a illegal bar or club where alcohol was served.
Due to the inferior quality of the spirits, which often where produced illegally by amateurs ('Moonshine') or smuggled, people felt the need to make them palatable by mixing them with juices, sugar, bitters and other components - the reason why so many of today's classic cocktails where developed in this time.
The Speakeasy series by Libbey pays tribute to this exciting and formative era. Even if wine wasn't very common to serve at those times - due to the adverse alcohol to volume ratio which made the smuggling much harder - a modern glass collection needs a wine glass. So Libbey made this beautiful glass with a vintage twist.
