The Old World Syrah glass from Riedel's 'Veritas' series is designed for the red wine of the same name. Red wines from the Syrah grape enchant above all with their high tannin content, as well as their peculiar aromas of spices such as pepper. The elegant wine glass with the large goblet balances these two aroma components perfectly, so that the best is extracted from the wine in terms of smell and taste. The egg-shaped, elliptical silhouette of the 600ml goblet accentuates the wine's velvety character and better brings out fruity and earthy notes.
In a box you get two Syrah glasses, made of high-quality crystal glass and as wafer-thin as you normally only know from hand-blown glasses.
In case you were wondering: why the suffix 'Old World'? In the Veritas series, Riedel offers more different grape variety-specific wine glasses than ever before. This also includes special glasses for enjoying Syrah from European growing areas (so called 'Old World') and Syrah wine from growing areas on other continents (so called 'New World'). The latter is often called Shiraz. Since the wines differ significantly in taste, they also need different goblet shapes.
