This small stemmed glass is the cognac glass from the 'Vino Grande' collection by Spiegelau. It has got a large, bell-shaped goblet somewhat reminiscent of a magnum glass. The typically very short stem makes it easy to hold and to move the glass to the mouth and nose. The stem in turn leads directly into a stable base. The goblet of a cognac glass is held in the open hand so that it can be easily swiveled with a small movement. Hence the alternative term 'cognac swivel'.
The cognac glass from the 'Vino Grande' series by Spiegelau is a voluminous cognac snifter. It is held by the short stem in the open hand so that the contents reach a moderate temperature due to body heat. Only then do the fruity aromas of brandies unfold in all their glory. The cognac glass is 15,3cm high, has got a rim diameter of 10,2cm and a filling volume of 558ml.
