Self-contained flake ice maker for commercial applications
The Hoshizaki FM-120KE-HC is designed for businesses that require substantial quantities of flake ice directly at the point of use, producing up to 125 kg within 24 hours. Its fine structure allows the ice to be spread evenly around chilled products, making it suitable for fish and fresh-food counters, buffet displays, salad bars and the processing of temperature-sensitive food.
Ice production and storage are combined within a single self-contained unit. The integrated bin holds up to 26 kg of finished flake ice and allows staff to remove the required amount directly from the machine. This provides a readily available reserve during operation without the need to install a separate storage bin.
Water freezes against the internal surface of the evaporator, where the resulting layer of ice is continuously removed and transported by a rotating auger. This process produces loose, easily shaped flakes and enables the FM-120KE-HC to maintain production when demand is distributed throughout the working day.
The stainless steel exterior is suited to the requirements of commercial preparation and service areas while providing an easy-to-maintain surface. Hygienic operation requires the storage bin and water-carrying components to be inspected and cleaned at the intervals specified by the manufacturer.
Electronic controls coordinate ice production and monitor the relevant operating processes. Heat is discharged through an air-cooled condenser, so sufficient clearance must be maintained around the ventilation areas. Regular condenser cleaning supports the required airflow and helps maintain reliable operation.
The FM-120KE-HC uses the natural refrigerant R290 and does not require an external refrigeration unit. Correctly installed water inlet, drain and electrical connections are required at the installation site. The machine is supplied with an installation kit and an ice scoop.
