With an output of up to 60 kg of crescent ice per 24 hours, the Hoshizaki KM-60C-HC is intended for food-service operations with a medium to higher demand for ice. This self-contained unit can be used in bars, restaurants, hotels and cafés, as well as for chilling bottles or displaying fresh products. Its integrated storage bin provides capacity for up to 23 kg of ice.

The KM series produces clear, individually formed crescent cubes with a curved yet solid structure and no internal cavity. Each cube measures approximately 38 x 29 x 13 mm and weighs an average of 10 g. The curved pieces nest closely together in a glass and help reduce splashing while drinks are poured. Their shape also makes it easier to position bottles between the ice inside a bucket or cooler.

Ice production is based on the CycleSaver system and a double-sided stainless-steel vertical evaporator. Ice forms simultaneously on both evaporator surfaces, allowing a larger quantity to be produced in each cycle. As fewer harvest cycles are required, more of the operating time is available for actual ice formation.

Water is circulated through a closed circuit that reduces potential points of contact with impurities. An electronically regulated DC pump controls the water flow, while a float switch monitors the fill level. Depending on the selected setting, the circuit is flushed with fresh water after a defined number of production cycles. Following four hours without ice production, the sanitation mode automatically refreshes the water inside the system.

The externally mounted EverCheck panel provides information about the current operating condition. Audible alerts and integrated self-diagnostic functions help identify faults and provide useful information for service technicians.

The evaporator is made entirely of stainless steel and does not require an additional surface coating. This prevents a plated layer from flaking during descaling. The air filter can be removed and cleaned from the front, while replaceable magnetic door gaskets simplify regular care of the storage area.

The KM-60C-HC uses an air-cooled refrigeration system with the natural refrigerant R290. Once connected to electricity, fresh water and drainage, the self-contained unit is ready for commissioning. Four adjustable legs and an ice scoop are included. A water filtration system and a UV LED for the water tank can be added as optional equipment.
