Ice buckets

Ice buckets and boxes are intended for temporary storage of ice or for transporting ice. They are used, for example, at the bar, the buffet or at the guest table, where ice is needed to cool drinks, but active cooling cannot be implemented. Most boxes and buckets have a lid so that the ice can be kept for a longer period of time. Some buckets and boxes also have special insulation. Common materials are plastic, stainless steel, aluminum or, more rarely, glass. A common extra is the so-called drip tray, which allows melt water to drain off to the bottom of the bucket, in order to protect the remaining ice from watering down.

The common sizes range from 1 liter to 8 liters. Larger transport buckets hold up to 20 liters. Thermal containers, mostly made of polypropylene, represent the next level and offer space for about 40 liters and more. An even larger and still easily transportable alternative are the so-called ice caddies, which, in addition to other extras, are characterized by particularly large volumes and wheels for easy transport.
