This strainer is a reliable and durable companion for the modern bartender. It is made of finest stainless steel and is mirror polished. It is equipped with a spring and the round plate features two support arms so that it comfortably rests on the according glass or shaker. The strainer keeps citrus seeds, ice cubes and larger pieces of fruit back for serving excellent and clean drinks. This noble product enriches every bar.
This simply shaped strainer "5053" was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1979 for Alessi. The designer himself worked closely together with the gastronomic idol from Italy; Alberto Gozzi. The Italien designer and architect was born in 1917 in Innsbruck and died in 2007. He helped overcome the functionality after 1945 whilst setting an energetic and colourful contrast to the intellectualism and stiffness at that time.
