These drinking straws from the manufacturer PAIO are crafted from naturally grown reeds. This makes them a sustainable alternative to the conventional plastic versions. Compared to the environmentally friendly competitors made of glass or metal, the reed straws are much lighter, cheaper and even compostable. This is due to the natural production method, which is simply based on treating the plant with wind and sun.
This version of the PAIO straws is 25cm long and has got an outer diameter of approx. 8mm, so that it can be used for long drink glasses and 0,33l bottles. Please note that the wall thickness and color may vary slightly due to the natural texture.
PAIO has a long tradition in the economic use of reeds - since 1883. The traditional company focuses on sustainability and climate protection. By cultivating the reeds in wet moors, the moors are given an economic right to exist. Otherwise, more and more moors would be drained to obtain peat. However, wet moors store CO2 and thus contribute to climate protection.
