The crystal glass series 'Jules' was designed for Nachtmann by Australian designer Oliver Bryant. It is inspired by the beauty of endless lavender fields - a sight that the French Provence is famous for. But did you know, that lavender fields bloom in the southern Australian state Tasmania, too?
The ornament, based on lavender branches, is engraved deep into the glass and runs over the entire surface. Only towards the edge of the glass do the 'branches' become a little thinner.
The tumbler from the 'Jules' series is about 10cm high and has a low center of gravity, which increases the stability of the whiskey glasses. Legend has it that tumbler glasses originally had a rounded and weighted base, in order to right themselves if knocked over. Hence the term "tumbler". While many tumblers today have a flat bottom, the designer has resumed the rounding in the 'Jules' series. The 4,5cm wide base itself is flat again, so that the glass stands perfectly firm.
