This ruby stone fruit is called cherry. This term originates from the old English Irani "ciris" (“cherry”) and it developed to Middle English cheri. This is lent from Old Northern French cherise. Scientists found fossilized cherry stones in a cave. Since the Stone Age, humans eat wild cherries. There are two species of cherries: firstly sweet cherry and secondly sour cherry.
