This slender Fizz glass from the 'Drink Specific Glassware' series by Riedel is made for serving so-called Fizzes. A Fizz is a refreshing cocktail in which a standard sour (any spirit plus lemon juice and sugar) is mixed with carbonated sparkling water and then served on ice and garnished with lemon zest. When such Fizzes are shaken and then strained, a high foam crown forms on top of the drink.
With its 16,3cm high, parallel sides, the Fizz glass from Riedel ensures that this foam pillow is well formed and maintained. The upright glass is decorated with a groove cut on the base and side walls. With the right illumination, this creates an aesthetic play of light between the glass content and the outside.
Recipe for Apricot Fizz:
40ml Apricot Brandy
20ml orange juice
20ml lemon or lime juice
5ml sugar syrup
60ml sparkling mineral water (soda)
Pour all ingredients into a shaker, mix and then strain into the Fizz glass filled 3/4 full with ice cubes.
We recommend mixing at least two Fizzes, because the Riedel Bar Fizz glass comes to you in a box of two.
