This butane burner from the works of Lurch is a real multitool: The consistent, continuously variable flame reaches a heat of up to 1200°C and is ideally suited for caramelizing (e.g. Crème Brûlée), flaming as well as igniting grills and fireplaces.

The burner gets (re-)filled with regular lighter butane. The built-in safety lock prevents accidental ignition; once the flame has been turned on, it can also be put into continuous mode via a second switch. The flame's intensity can be adjusted freely using the slider on the side.
