Originally ginger comes from Southeast Asia. For over 4000 years humans have been cultivating this spice. The plant has leaves which looks similar to reed. The blossom looks like an iris: yellow and crimson flower lip. You can only eat the sprout. Young ginger tastes juicy, tart and fruity, whereas older ones tastes severe and are coarse-grained.
