The Hoshizaki FM-480AKE-HCN-SB has been developed for applications where very large quantities of nugget ice are required every day and a continuous ice supply is essential. With a production capacity of up to 380 kg of nugget ice per 24 hours, this model ranks among the most powerful units in its class and is ideally suited for large hotels, restaurant groups, catering companies, event venues, food processing operations and retail environments with high ice demand.

Thanks to its modular design, the ice maker can be combined with various Hoshizaki storage bins to create customised ice supply systems. This flexibility allows operators to tailor storage capacity to their exact requirements while maintaining the option to expand production capabilities as demand grows.

The nugget ice produced features a firm, dry texture and excellent cooling performance. It rapidly chills beverages while providing controlled dilution, making it ideal for cocktails, soft drinks, smoothies and specialty beverages. Nugget ice is also widely used for food presentation, buffet displays, bakeries, fresh food counters and specialised medical or laboratory applications.

At the core of the FM series is Hoshizaki’s proven auger technology. Virtually all incoming water is converted into ice, creating a highly efficient and resource-conscious production process. The double-hardened stainless steel auger operates with durable carbon bearings that require no grease, helping to reduce wear and minimise maintenance requirements.

The virtually closed water circuit protects the ice-making process from external contamination. At the same time, automatic rinse cycles support water hygiene and help minimise limescale and mineral deposits. The result is consistently high ice quality, even under intensive operating conditions.

The electronic control system continuously monitors all operating parameters and automatically adapts production to changing environmental conditions. The integrated control display simplifies system monitoring and supports preventive maintenance, helping ensure long-term operational reliability.

The robust stainless steel housing has been designed specifically for demanding professional environments. Easily accessible components and a washable air filter simplify cleaning and servicing while contributing to an extended service life.

For refrigeration, the FM-480AKE-HCN-SB uses natural refrigerant R290. This supports energy-efficient operation while maintaining high production performance and contributes to a more sustainable use of resources. The Emerald Class design also delivers significant energy savings compared to previous generations.

The scope of delivery includes an installation kit and all necessary mounting components. Optional storage bins, water filtration systems and additional accessories are available to adapt the ice production system to individual operational requirements.
