The Hoshizaki KM-140C-HC is designed for professional environments with a high and continuous demand for crescent ice. This self-contained machine produces up to 138 kg of clear, shape-retaining ice within 24 hours. Its integrated storage bin holds up to 55 kg, providing a substantial reserve during busy operating periods. Typical applications include bars, restaurants, hotels, event venues and larger food-service operations.

The individually produced crescent pieces have a curved half-moon shape and a solid structure without an internal cavity. They measure approximately 38 x 29 x 13 mm and weigh an average of 10 g. Inside a glass, the pieces fit closely together and reduce splashing during filling. Their shape is also suitable for chilling wine, sparkling wine and other bottled beverages or for refrigerated product displays.

CycleSaver technology uses a double-sided stainless-steel vertical evaporator that forms ice simultaneously on both surfaces. The enlarged active evaporator area increases the amount produced during each cycle. Fewer defrost and harvest phases are therefore required, leaving more operating time available for ice formation.

Production water circulates through a closed circuit. An electronically regulated DC pump adjusts the water flow to the current operating conditions, while a float switch monitors the water level. Automatic and manual flushing programmes introduce fresh water at defined intervals. After four hours without production, the sanitation mode refreshes the water inside the circuit.

The externally positioned EverCheck controller monitors machine operation. Audible alerts indicate relevant conditions, while the integrated self-diagnostic system provides service technicians with information for targeted fault assessment.

The double-sided evaporator is made entirely from stainless steel and requires no additional surface plating. There is therefore no coated layer that could detach during descaling. The air filter is accessible from the front and can be removed for routine cleaning. Replaceable magnetic door gaskets simplify care of the storage area.

The KM-140C-HC uses air-cooled refrigeration and the natural refrigerant R290. The self-contained unit can be commissioned once the required electrical, water and drainage connections have been installed. Four legs and an ice scoop are included. A water filtration system and a UV LED for the water tank are available as optional equipment.
