Self-contained crescent ice maker for professional use

The Hoshizaki KM-80C-HC is designed for professional operations with a continuous demand for clear, shape-retaining crescent ice. Producing up to 75 kg within 24 hours, the machine is suitable for bars, restaurants, hotels, event venues and other food-service environments. Its integrated storage bin holds up to 34 kg of ice.

The characteristic crescent-shaped ice pieces are formed individually and have a curved, completely solid structure. Measuring approximately 38 x 29 x 13 mm and weighing an average of 10 g, they can be used for cocktails, long drinks and soft drinks. Their half-moon shape allows the ice pieces to nest closely in a glass, reduces splashing while drinks are poured and also makes them suitable for chilling bottles in ice buckets or display containers.

A double-sided stainless-steel vertical evaporator forms the central part of the ice-making system. Combined with CycleSaver technology, it produces ice simultaneously on both evaporator surfaces. This increases the quantity obtained in each production cycle while reducing the number of defrost and harvest phases required.

During production, water circulates through a closed circuit. The DC pump regulates the flow as required, while a float switch monitors the current water level. Automatic and manual flushing programmes provide regular water renewal. Fresh-water flushing can be configured for different cycle intervals, with flushing after every ten production cycles set at the factory. Following four hours of inactivity, the sanitation mode automatically cleans and refreshes the water circuit.

The electronic EverCheck controller is accessible from the outside of the machine. An audible alarm indicates relevant operating conditions, while self-diagnostic functions provide information that assists service technicians with fault assessment.

The evaporator is manufactured entirely from stainless steel and requires no additional protective plating. As a result, there is no coated layer that could detach during descaling. Other maintenance areas are also readily accessible: the air filter can be cleaned from the front, and the magnetic door gaskets can be replaced when required.

The air-cooled KM-80C-HC uses the natural refrigerant R290. This self-contained unit can be commissioned after connection to electricity, fresh water and drainage. Four legs and an ice scoop are included. A compatible water filtration system and a UV LED for the water tank are available as optional equipment.
