Tin in tin shaker

Tin in tin shakers correspond follow the same principle as the Boston shaker, with the difference that instead of a mixing glass another metal cup is used. The difference to two-part / French Style shaker is that the metal parts of the tin in tin shaker are fitted into each other at an angle, as is the case with the Boston shaker. Two-part cocktail shakers, on the other hand, consist of a cup and a lid that are flush with each other.

Despite their parallels, there are a few subtle differences. Tin-in-Tin cups are usually made of delicately thin material, which means that the shaker weighs less than a Boston shaker with its robust mixing glasses. The lack of a mixing glass also eliminates the risk of glass breakage. Visually, the two metal cups make for a more coherent overall picture, when compared to a Boston shaker. However, the shaker is not transparent which keeps you and your guests from seeing the shaken cocktail within the mixing glass.

Since both parts of a tin in tin shaker are made of metal and are somewhat flexible, tilted cups separate more easily than with a Boston shaker. By using all metal, the sound during the shaking process is also softer and more consistent, making it easier to mix 'by ear'. Last but not least, the stainless-steel cups are very easy to clean by rinsing.
