Originally does the Mojito come from Cuba. During the prohibition the Americans were asking for an anti alcoholic Mint Julep with alcohol and the Mojito was born. And with a dash of Angostura the Mojito will get smarter. The name originatesfrom the word "mojo" and means seasoning mix mixed with lime juice.
In Cuba you only use "Mentha nemorosa" which is smoother and sweeter than the ordinarypeppermint. Traditionally is the Mojito a punch. Giffard Mojito syrup is an anti alcoholic version of this classic cocktail. Have fun while mixing new drinks.
