Cocktail bowl

The cocktail bowl is an absolute classic among cocktail glasses. That’s why the term cocktail glass is often synonymously used with the stemmed bowl design. However, this term is not standardized; For example, 'cocktail glass' can just as well mean a hurricane or long drink glass.

In comparison to other cocktail glass options, however, the cocktail bowl has a smaller capacity than non-stemmed glassware. Cocktails bowls, also sometimes called ‘coupe glasses’ are usually used for so-called short drinks; Meaning drinks with a typical filling quantity of 5 - 10, maximum 12 cl. These are first mixed together with ice in a shaker or mixing glass and then filled into the glass without ice; In order to keep the drink cold for as long as possible, the glasses are often pre-cooled in the freezer. The stem of the cocktail glass then helps to prevent the drink from being warmed up by the guest’s hand.

Due to their popularity in the first half of the 20th century, these glasses are now considered particularly 'classic'. A cocktail glass, for example, is the conically shaped martini glass, which is used, for example, for martinis, Manhattans, and Cosmopolitans.
