Bar Blender

Bar blenders are electric kitchen appliances for mixing liquid or semi-solid ingredients, as well as for pureeing and chopping solid food. The devices usually consist of a base station, which contains the electric motor and the controls, and a mixing container for the ingredients. These containers are mainly made of transparent polycarbonate or glass. A lid (e.g. made of rubber) serves as a closure and splash guard; many lids also have small openings for adding further ingredients during operation. The blade unit is located at the bottom of the container and is removable in many models for better cleaning.

In operation, the rotating blades chop the ingredients; spinning against the outer wall and flowing back to the blades creates a rotating funnel, which ensures good mixing of the ingredients.

In addition to the appearance, shape and capacity of the container, the various models differ in the blade design (sharp/blunt as well as the number and design of the blades), the motor power and other additional features such as different programs or a sound insulation. Some blenders are also suitable for preparing hot dishes such as sauces or soups.

At the cocktail bar, bar blenders are used, for example, to mix milk shakes as well as smoothies and frappuccinos. Drink classics such as daiquiries or margaritas are also made in the mixer. The advantage of bar blenders over drink mixers, depending on the application, is the enclosed design, stronger motor power, and the use of blades instead of spindles, which means that the mixers have no problems with ice or solid ingredients.

Attention: The rotation speed of the blender influences the consistency as well as the emulsion stability of the blended ingredients!
