Cocktail knife

Cocktail knives are mainly used in bars to process fruit. These usually medium-sized knives with a typical blade length of around 9-14 cm are serrated and often feature a double-pointed blade end. The double tip can be curved or straight. Some cocktail knives also come with a flat grind in addition to the serrated blade. Handles are made of plastic, metal or wood. Well-made cocktail knives are characterized by a fine and seemingly gapless transition from the handle to the blade.

The knives’ tip is primarily intended for quickly and easily skewering fruit and putting them in the cocktail glass or the rim. It can also be used to remove unwanted seeds. The serrated blade makes it easy to cut fruit skins; an additional flat grind can be used, for example, to trim zest from oranges or lemon peels. The bar knife is therefore an essential tool for the preparation of cocktail decorations.
