Portioners

In terms of the way they work, portioners are exactly between pourers and bottle dispensers: although they have a dosing function and always dispense equal portions, portioners are simply placed on the bottle, which can be guided freely and does not have to be fixed behind the bar.

Portioners use one of two different systems, each of which has different advantages and disadvantages:

– Portioners with a 3-ball system are much smaller and more inconspicuous; so you don't tie your guests directly to the fact that you are accurately dosing your spirits. However, this particular system works exclusively with spirits, and that means not with syrup, liqueur or normal water! In addition, re-pouring requires swiveling the bottle around each time.

– In contrast, portioners with a chamber system have a dosing chamber; therefore, they are primarily much larger. However, these models compensate for this disadvantage in that they fill up again after pouring and a 1-second pause, which allows pouring 'in line' without annoying swiveling. In addition, portioners with a chamber system also work with liqueurs or syrups - but should then be cleaned frequently.

Both versions require the bottle to be held at a 45° angle for pouring.
